Zero Experience to A Professional Pilot in 9 months

01

Private Pilot Certificate

3 Months

Have you always dreamed of flying or starting a career airline pilot program? The first step toward legally flying a plane is earning your private pilot license or PPL. While some students choose to obtain this license for recreational purposes, many choose to go on and earn other certifications to start an exciting aviation career.

02

Instrument Rating

2 Months

The Instrument Rating gives you more flexibility as a pilot and allows you to navigate a plane using aircraft instruments. This means you can fly even in adverse weather conditions and you no longer have to rely solely on visual references for navigation.

With an Instrument Rating, a little bit of harsh weather does not have to stop you from flying. Reach out to us today to learn more about our program!

03

Commercial Pilot Certificate

2 Months

There’s often confusion between a commercial pilot and an airline pilot. A commercial pilot certificate is the baseline requirement to fly for any operation and be compensated as the pilot. However, landing a job immediately after obtaining this certificate is rare. To qualify for an airline position, one must accumulate up to 1500 total flight hours.

After this rating, a student can be paid. However, not many jobs will hire you right after this first step. To qualify for an airline, you need to build up to 1500 total flight time.

04

Multi-Engine Academy

4 Weeks

Nearly every airline or commercial pilot career involves flying multi-engine aircraft. Adding a multi-engine rating to your commercial pilot certificate enables you to operate aircraft with two or more engines.

The primary reason for multi-engine aircraft is safety. Having multiple engines provides redundancy—if one engine fails, there is a backup. However, if a pilot is not adequately trained, flying on a single engine can pose even greater risks.

05

Flight Instructor Academy

4 Weeks

For most students aspiring for a career in the airlines, becoming a flight instructor is the common path. Firstly, it is the fastest route to accumulate the 1500 hours of total flight time required. Secondly, there is no better way to deepen your understanding than by teaching.

As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), you gain extensive experience and command of an aircraft in various scenarios. Many airlines believe that this training prepares you thoroughly to transition into roles as a second officer or captain of a jet.

06

ATP-CTP Course

1 Week Program

The last step in becoming a regional airline pilot is to pass the ATP written exam. Since 2010, to qualify for the ATP written exam, students must complete an ATP-CTP (Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program) course.

Although most career airline pilot flight school programs do not offer this course, it’s a crucial component for securing a job with an airline. While many airlines offer the ATP-CTP course to their hires, completing it beforehand demonstrates your readiness as a student to take on your first type rating.

At Kilo Charlie Aviation our motto is "Breaking down barriers to a career in aviation"

Why Choose Kilo Charlie Aviation for Pilot Training?

In todays airline industry, speed in training is the focus. Our accelerated career airline pilot flight school program is designed to be completed in 12 months or less.

A major topic with the hiring managers at every airline is quality. So speed is definitely important to get to the airlines but quality of training is more important than ever.

A lot of our students can complete our program in as little as nine months but it does take dedication and focus.

Many flight schools are flying “new” airplanes designed and built in the 1970s. Very little has changed in these airplanes except for avionics. Kilo Charlie Aviation trains in the new Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft.

These airplanes have been developed since 2020 with 21st-century technology and are also equipped with the BRS ballistic parachute system, providing a higher level of safety for our students and instructors. Additionally, our airplanes are equipped with the state-of-the-art Garmin G3X avionics suite and the Garmin GFC 500 autopilot system.

Training to become qualified for the airlines is a major investment. We have partnered with four different companies to help assist in this process. Stratus and Skybound are our two best options and will provide full financing for your career pilot program along with living expenses while you are in flight training.

Most flight schools have focused on only partnerships with the airlines. The airlines are a great route, but the Part 135 charter operators are becoming more and more competitive with the airline routes in pay and quality of life.

Our partnership with Airshare allows your students to get into the cockpit of a jet about 6 months sooner than at an airline.

We have apartment options for housing if you are from out of town.   We can provide single and double room occupancy.  All of our housing is within 10 minutes of the airport.

We have partnered with PURDUE Global University to provide a route to earn a degree while obtaining your ratings for the airlines. While the airlines do not require a degree; Purdue has a great program that pairs up with our ratings allowing you to get a bachelors degree in less than 2 years.

This course is for you

High School Student

Are you a high school student seeking an alternative to a traditional four-year degree? Our partners can assist you in obtaining your degree while also expediting your journey to a career in aviation.

College Student

If college has not been the right fit for you, now might be the ideal moment to pursue earning all your aviation ratings. By doing so, you can qualify for a career that ranks in the top 5% of all professions, all without the need for a four-year degree.

Career Change

Are you currently in a career that feels like a dead end or simply is not fulfilling your aspirations? This could be the perfect opportunity to invest in a career change and aim for the skies, making your office at 30,000 feet instead.

End of Career

Are you approaching retirement and seeking a rewarding way to both earn income and make a lasting impact? With airlines hiring pilots at unprecedented rates, the demand for career flight instructors is higher than ever before.

I started my journey with Kilo Charlie early 2022, after talking with Greg I knew that this was one of my goals that I wanted to start pursuing. During my time as a student I have met many great instructors who have helped me grow my love for flying. I plan to complete all of my hours and endorsements through them. Their planes are well maintained and have everything you need to fly confidently.

Learning to fly at Kilo Charlie has been great! My instructor Trent is great at helping me learn at my own pace for getting a private pilot license. I have never felt unsafe or unprepared for what the days lesson was about. New century is also a great place to learn, busy enough you will get variety but not so busy it is overwhelming.

I can't say enough good things about Kilo Charlie. I was coming from out of town to complete my private pilot license. So I wanted to get done as quickly as possible so I could get home. Robert and team accommodated my schedule superbly. From zero hours to licensed was less than 4 weeks, flying twice per day. After passing my checkride, Robert (owner) called the tower, so I received a public congrats from ATC on the radio. Little things like that really mean a lot. Kilo Charlie really made me a priority, and I felt like I became part...
