Challenge Yourself and Climb Higher
Robert Renfro, an experienced commercial and corporate pilot, teamed up with Andrew Konicek to co-found Kilo Charlie Aviation in 2020. Their goal has been to establish the world’s finest flight school. They recognized that achieving this goal required bringing together the most qualified certified flight instructors, top-notch aircraft mechanics, and a skilled support team.
Today, Kilo Charlie Aviation, situated in the heart of the Midwest in Kansas City, is recognized as the leading institution for flight training at every level. Aviation enthusiasts from around the globe visit Kilo Charlie Aviation to earn their private pilot license, acquire their instrument rating, qualify as certified flight instructors, and deepen their understanding of flight across various stages.
What makes us Different?

What People Are Saying
Great guys all around. Knowledgeable at helping me fulfill a dream to fly since I was a teenager (I’m now 46). Every time I fly I think about how awesome it is to be in the air. I’ve flown with Hunter and Ryan. Both are excellent at instructing and I continue to learn a lot with each flight. Keep up the good work!

I can’t say enough good things about Kilo Charlie. I was coming from out of town to complete my private pilot license. So I wanted to get done as quickly as possible so I could get home. Robert and team accommodated my schedule superbly. From zero hours to licensed was less than 4 weeks.

Great Flight School! All instructors care about your success. It feels like a family here. Everyone is helpful. Awesome fleet of planes! Perfect location to learn with ATC, runways, and variety of air traffic. This place will help you stay on a budget and get your license for less than most other places.
